A Taste for Adventure

SKU: 20211200001

Children book for 6-11 years old written and illustrated by Nicolas Flandrin-Jones. (78 pages)

When Alfred finds out about the amazing food that people eat in exotic countries like England and Jamaica, he leaves his home on the island of Svalbard. His friend Sydney is a whale who just loves travelling, so he climbs on her back and sets off on an epic journey to discover new flavours.

The little polar bear has a number of items on his list, including fish and chips, oysters, and saltfish with ackee. When he comes back home, he has a big idea of his own...

A gentle, amusing story for all the family.
In his first book for children, the author uses rhythm and rhyme to give us back the enjoyment of reading out loud to those we love.

Translated from French by Philip Jones

  • What people say about the book:

"This is a beautiful book. Lovely rhyme. Lovely way to see the world and learn about new cultures. I think it's exquisite. The illustrations are INCREDIBLE. They add so much to the story. This is a lovely story for children to be read. It reminded me a little of "The Snail and the Whale" by Julia Donaldson."

"A Taste for Adventure hits a sweet spot between playful fun and inspiring kids  to think about the world around them. Whether read aloud to eager ears or under the covers on their own, the beautiful illustrations and rhythmic writing style draw you into the adventure. I'm personally looking forward to many more with Alfred and Sydney in the future."
